Install driver ljP1000_P1500-HB-pnp-win64-en from HP Product support site (no difference whether I run it AsAdmin or straight away).Check for old driver instances by printui/s, reboot.HP Print&Scan Doctor says something like 'cant figure out anything, go to hell support community'. I did try all recommended steps from above, Basic driver from HP site, printui /s, etc.
It was with new Win10 Lenovo V330-15IKB laptop when the trouble started. This old good HP P1006 of mine works fine and dandy with my other XP and Win7 systems at home. I regret to say, I still have p1006 not working on Win10.
